Extension Activities

In this academic year, each Department has conducted National Level Seminars inviting experts in the fields concerned and taken remarkable efforts to encourage students to attend Seminars, Symposia, Workshops and other knowledge acquiring programmes conducted in other colleges. Students and staff from various departments of our college have attended Conferences, Symposia conducted by other colleges and also presented papers in those conferences. To exhibit the talents of our students, the Departments and the Management provide a strong platform.


Infrastructural Facilities

Education at Hindusthan is aimed at contributing the best to the individual in terms of facilities, personal coaching and most importantly placement. The sprawling campus of 8.5 acres with builtin area 34743 sq.mts. consists of Four blocks. A Block, B Block , C Block and D Block. There are 124 spacious well-ventilated classrooms to accommodate the students. Each floor is provided with cool, purified drinking water and water doctors. The college has also provided the students with elevator facility for the physically challenged students.

Cultural Activities

An Inter-Collegiate Cultural Festival – HILARICAS is organized in a grand manner to encourage talents and skills of the students. More than 120 colleges participate in this mega event. This event is conducted with famous cine celebrities from different fields. Totally 16 various events both on stage and off stage are conducted.


The college library is fully automated with wide collection of the latest books, periodicals, and CD/DVD which is expanded and updated every year. The library functions in a networked environment with pc have to support its various operations and services. Electronic resources are available to all members via the internet. The books in the library are bar-coded for automated circulation. A Separate section is allotted for candidates who are appearing for civil services examination. The college reading room remains open on class days from 9.00 am – 6.00 p.m. The library remains closed on Sundays and holidays.



The membership of the Library is open to Faculties Research scholars, Students and support staff of the College. The research scholars and students from outside and eminent persons of the society may also be considered for membership subject to approval of the college authority.

Before entering the Library, register your visit, by scanning your Identity Card, in the scanner which is placed near the entrance. Please wear your Identity Card till you leave the Library.

General Reference Section

The Ready-Reference Tools relating to general reference consultation are available in this section in the Reading Room.

The systems have the latest software available in the market. The students of Microbiology and Biotechnology benefit from the state of the art laboratories and the highly qualified faculty members. The labs are equipped to carry out research programmes also. The Department of Visual Communication deserves special mention for its excellent infrastructural facilities. The Photography lab requires special mention for being equipped with the latest digital cameras, video cameras, handy cameras, with which the students receive handson training. The students of Costume Design and Fashion Technology are fortunate to have hi-tech labs for their practical like computerized sewing machines and equipment for teaching dyeing, block printings to the students. The college also provides the students of Catering Technology and Hotel Management with the best training kitchen, a restaurant, a front office, to enable the students to have personalized training. The Department of Electronics is equipped with the latest gadgets, devices, embedded system VLSI design and processors.


Language Lab

A well-equipped language lab has been set up to enhance individual’s English language competence. It facilitates to develop the communication skills of the students. Many tasks based on the International English Language Testing System are also available.

Internet Facilities

The college provides the students with Internet facility at free of cost. The computer labs are equipped with 8 mbps and an average of 100 students can access the Internet at a time. The students are allowed to use it even after their college hours.


The Hostels are situated within the campus of Hindusthan College of Arts & Science. The ambience is so much of a home to reveal that hostel can be called a home away from home. There are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Nearly 1500 students are accommodated in both the hostels. They are provided with Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian food. There is a central canteen and six cafeteria inside the college premises



There is a canteen situated inside the campus which provides vegetarian and non vegetarian food. They also provide with snacks, hot and cold drinks. There are separate rooms for staff and students. There are also five cafeteria to provide snacks and drinks.


Club & Associations

To encourage the talents and skills of the students, the college organizes a number of Eminent Personalities are invited to deliver lectures to enrich the students’ academic knowledge and to inculcate values. These measures helps to students develop their personality, spirit of enquiry and expose them to the latest advancement in various fields of scientific and technological research.

The Physical Education Department is equipped with a state of the art gym, a basketball court with floodlights, tennis and shuttle court both indoors and outdoors. There is a large ground for students to play Football, Cricket, Volleyball and Ball Badminton. The Department focuses on the alround development of the students and they are encouraged to take active part in sports activities. The annual sports day is conducted and various track and field events take place. Students show remarkable sportsmanship and team spirit. The Olympic torch relay this year not only conveyed a message of teamwork but also spread the awareness of giving light to another by donating their eyes. Other sports activities are Karate, Taekwondo and Body Building.



The faculty and students have involved themselves in extension activities and community development programmes through special programmes organised by 3 NSS Units of our college. The NSS is aimed at developing the personality of the NSS volunteers through social service. The NSS has endeavoured its best in its service. The motto “NOT ME BUT YOU” is well adhered to and community services are rendered through special camps by way of conducting Blood Donation Camps, Eye Camps and General Medical Camps in various adopted villages.

Special Camps

Blood Donation Camps have been organized over the period of 10 years, which led to the generous contribution of nearly 1,500 units of blood. The NSS conducted a General Medical camp for the adopted villages which included a general check up and doctors with specialization in ENT were asked to give their expert opinion.

Outreaching Programmes

The students had taken part in rallies and outreaching programmes conducted by NGOs and Social organizations. They have been in AIDS awareness programmes and Save the Plants programmes. Students also canvassed for the “One hour Lights out” campaign, the focus was on saving electricity especially in big cities. The students have spread the importance of saving trees by planting trees within the college campus. Students went on a regular basis to the adopted villages where they were training the rural people on personal hygiene, cleanliness of the environment and surrounding. They also taught the villagers to read and write and empower them with self employment like candle making, basket weaving, art from waste.
