The Student Support Cell of Hindusthan College of Arts & Science was formerly known as Counselling Cell. The cell started in the year 2015 and the activities are initiated from the year 2016 for the holistic growth and development of students.
College students may have emotional problems related to their family and college life. The Student Support Cell attempts to understand the nature of psychosocial problems of students and help them manage the problems and improve their mental well-being. The Cell especially focuses on improving the mental health of students and empowers them by providing counselling services to students who require support. The Cell consists of 10 Committee members and 25 Counselling in charges from all the Departments to plan programmes for the welfare of students.
Aim
To provide a comfortable environment for students to express their problems relating to their academic, social, emotional and psychological problems and equip them with skills to lead a healthy and happy life.
Objectives
♦️ To organize programmes/sessions and help students become aware of the activities and support offered by the Cell.
♦️ To identify their mental health needs, concerns and appropriately provide counselling services.
♦️ To facilitate students to express their concerns in a safe and comfortable environment.
♦️ To assist students to work through their problems, develop self-awareness and overcome anxiety & stress.
♦️ To Enable students to deal with people in different/difficult situations and lead a peaceful life.
